A formolized saponin adjuvant vaccine against contagious agalactia was tested in 8 milking ewes. The vaccinated animals and an equal number of unvaccinated controls were challenged by s.c. injection of a culture of Mycoplasma agalactiae. All unvaccinated animals produced abnormal milk, that was also positive to the Whiteside test, one vaccinated animal produced abnormal milk for a short period and another two were positive to the Whiteside test.
