Experimental determination of stress situations in sheep

Experimental determination of stress situations in sheep

Monatshefte fur Veterinarmedizin 44(13): 450-453

Comparative measurements were undertaken to establish the reaction of sheep to physical and psychological stressors, such as running, sound, handling, isolation, and quality checking. A speed of 1.5 km/h did not produce major stress after ten kilometres of running, whereas exhaustion stress was observed after some three kilometres at speeds of 3 km/h and 4.1 km/h.
