Experimental immunization of hens against colibacteroisis

Experimental immunization of hens against colibacteroisis

Zeszyty Naukowe Akademii Rolniczej we Wrocawiu, Weterynaria 44(172): 67-85

Escherichia coli serotypes 01:K1(L), 02:K1(L), 078:K80(B) and serogroup 081 were used in immunization experiments on laying hens, eggs from immunized and control hens, chicks and young chickens, and embryonated eggs. In all laying hens, aerosols containing 16 x 104 cells/litre induced anti-0 serum antibodies, increased bactericidal serum activity, and increased levels of alpha and gamma globulins. The antibody induced was class IgM not transmittable to egg yolk.
