Experimental infection of lambs with a pestivirus and Pasteurella haemolytica type T4

Experimental infection of lambs with a pestivirus and Pasteurella haemolytica type T4

Recueil de Medecine Veterinaire 166(2): 143-150

Three groups of 14 conventionally reared lambs, 4 to 6 weeks old, were inoculated with a pestivirus and a strain of P. haemolytica isolated from lambs with a septiceamic syndrome. One group was inoculated i.p. with the pestivirus, one other intratracheally with the Pasteurella and the third with the pestivirus followed 8 days later by the Pasteurella. In the first group, viral infection was inapparent clinically but the virus was isolated from all slaughtered lambs.
