Experimental investigation of washout of radionuclides deposited on soil as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear power station accident

Experimental investigation of washout of radionuclides deposited on soil as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear power station accident

Soviet Meteorology and Hydrology (11): 27-33

Experimental data on the washout of Sr90 and Cs137 by surface runoff from artificially-sprinkled runoff plots are presented for the 30 km zone at the Chernobyl nuclear power station. The applicability of sprinkling 1 msuperscript 2 plots to obtain radionuclide washout data was examined. Washout coefficients for autumn and spring flood periods are given.
