Experimental investigation on interactions between metallic elements and the mineralisation of organic matter in an alluvial soil amended with sewage sludge

Experimental investigation on interactions between metallic elements and the mineralisation of organic matter in an alluvial soil amended with sewage sludge

Cahiers ORSTOM, Serie Pedologie 24(3): 255-261

An inoculation study indicated that sludge was rich in easily biodegradable organic matter but that addition of copper at 400-4000 ppm or zinc at 400 or 800 ppm inhibited the mineralization of the organic matter by 19-43%.
