Experimental methodology and responses of principal crops to sulphur fertilization in Bangladesh

Sulphur deficiencies in Bangladesh soils are widespread and responses to its application have been reported for different crops. Laboratory studies have shown that out of 22 representative soil samples, 17 were found to contain available SO4-S below the critical level (14 kg/100 ml). Greenhouse studies also indicated significant yield reduction of sorghum when used as an indicator plant in the sulphur deficient soils.
