Three of 9 Naegleria strains (1 from a spring and 8 from swimming pools in Galicia, Spain) survived temperatures of 37 degrees C. The surviving strains were separately inoculated into mice, and all had lesions of the brain, lungs or heart at necropsy 30 days later.
