Experimental polyploids of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.). 1. Producing and identifying polyploids

Experimental polyploids of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.). 1. Producing and identifying polyploids

Izvestiya Sibirskogo Otdeleniya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Biologicheskikh Nauk (6/1): 111-117

Colchicine treatment induced autotetraploids (2n = 4x = 48) at a frequency of 2.5% when treatment was of the growing point of seedlings at the cotyledon stage. Triploids, hexaploids and aneuploids were also obtained. Among the autotetraploids, about 16.5% were sectoral chimaeras, having cells with 2n = 24 and 48.
