Gorgas Memorial Laboratory, Biennial Report, 1985-1986: ; 28-34

The maintenance of monkeys by the Gorgas Memorial Laboratory, Panama, and their use in the evaluation of drugs against Plasmodium falciparum is described. The use of monkeys in studies of vaccines against P. falciparum and Toxoplasma, and of the pathology of cyst rupture in chronic Toxoplasma infection is summarized.
