Experimental studies in north Bavarian conifer stands on the water regime and nitrogen input after nitrogen fertilizer treatments

Experimental studies in north Bavarian conifer stands on the water regime and nitrogen input after nitrogen fertilizer treatments

Forstliche Forschungsberichte Munchen (76): 461

Studies were made in 2 Pinus sylvestris stands (precipitation 650 mm) and 2 Picea abies stands (1050-1150 mm) after the application of various levels of ammonium nitrate with lime. The hydrological balance of the sites, and the amount of leachate and nutrient losses were determined. The absolute level of evapotranspiration was similar in the stands of pine and spruce. Fertilizer treatment influenced throughfall significantly only in pine.
