Experimental studies on the biocontamination and disinfection of wood suitable for cowshed construction

Experimental studies on the biocontamination and disinfection of wood suitable for cowshed construction

Revue de Medecine Veterinaire 140(1): 45-52

Test blocks of pinewood, both planed and unplaned, were fastened to uprights in a sealed chamber, and exposed to experimental aerosol infection with Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli. Then disinfecting sprays were introduced, either Incidine (a mixture of formol, glutaraldehyde, glyoxal and ethanol) or Pyosynthene (a phenol preparation). No significant difference in the contamination of rough and planed wood was detected.
