Faba beans with different tannin contents: ileal and faecal digestibility in piglets and growth in chicks

Faba beans with different tannin contents: ileal and faecal digestibility in piglets and growth in chicks

Recent advances of research in antinutritional factors in legume seeds Proceedings of the First International Workshop on "Antinutritional Factors ANF in Legume Seeds", November 23-25, 1988, Wageningen, Netherlands: 176-180

Two experiments were made to estimate the nutritional value in pigs and poultry of different varieties of faba bean containing varying amounts of tannins. There were significant differences in ileal digestibility in piglets of different varieties of faba beans, which were likely related to their tannin contents.
