Factors affecting the milk yield and composition of Rahmany and Barki sheep and their crosses

Proceedings 3rd Egyptian British Conference on Animals, Fish and Poultry Production, Alexandria, Egypt, 7-10 October 1989 (Vol. 1): 459-467

In a 7-year study a total of 79 Rahmany, 153 Barki, 51 1/2 Rahmany X 1/2 Barki and 54 superscript 3/4 Rahmany X 1/4 Barki ewes were used to estimate the effect of genotype, sex of lamb, number of lambs reared, weight of ewe after parturition, age of ewe, season of lambing, and year of lactation on milk yield and composition. The animals were hand-milked 1 day/wk for the first 16 wk of lactation.
