The oil content of the fruits was 7.4-10.8% in the wild carrot and 7.3-12.4% in the cultivated carrot Nantes. The main components of the oil were petroselinic acid (76.3 and 64.1% in the wild and cultivated carrot, respectively), linoleic (14.4 and 10.8%), myristic (nil and 12.0%), palmitic (3.8 and 3.8%) and capric acid (1.6 and 6.1%).
