An account is given of genetic male sterility in the B. napus breeding line 23, which carries 2 genes designated Ms1 and Ms2. The Ms2 locus is epistatic over the Ms1 locus. Pollination of homozygous male sterile plants, Ms1Ms1ms2ms2, with pollen from the double recessive fertile, ms1ms1ms2ms2, produces a generation of male sterile plants, Ms1ms1ms2ms2.
