Genetic parameters of some leaf characters in flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) at two representative stalk positions

In field trials at Taegu with crosses between NC2326 and McNair 373 and between NC628 and DG72, additive gene effects appeared to be greater than dominance effects for all leaf and midrib characters at both leaf positions examined (largest leaf located in a central position and the 5th leaf from the top after topping). Dominance effects were significant for leaf length and width and midrib weight at the central leaf position.
