Glutathione S-transferase activity in intact protoscolices of Echinococcus granulosus

Glutathione S-transferase activity in intact protoscolices of Echinococcus granulosus

Biochemical Society Transactions 14(1): 132-133

Protoscoleces of E. granulosus from metacestodes in sheep liver were assayed for glutathione-S-transferase activity. In all the experiments, there was a rapid rise in intracellular glutathione-1 chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (CNDB) concentration during the first 5 min of incubation followed by a decline which was paralleled by an increase in the extracellular concentration of the conjugate.
