Guthion-resistant walnut aphid parasite. Release, dispersal, and recovery in orchards

Guthion-resistant walnut aphid parasite. Release, dispersal, and recovery in orchards

California Agriculture 43(5): 21-23

An improved strain of the braconid parasitoid Trioxys pallidus resistant to azinphos-methyl performed well as a biological control agent against Chromaphis juglandicola after release in commercial walnut orchards in California in 1988, persisting in 4 of the 5 release sites and, at 2 sites, dispersing to nearby walnut blocks.
