Informationen fur die Fischwirtschaft 36(2): 86-88

Frozen 2-kg blocks of whole cuttlefish, probably Loligo edulis, from India or Thailand were analysed in January 1989. In whole cuttlefish, viscera including tentacles and washed tubes with skin from the Indian sample cadmium reached 450, 3960 and 190 mu g/kg fresh matter and in the Thai sample 180, 520 and 120 mu g. Corresponding lead values were 7, 7 and 8 mu g/kg for the Indian and 19, 23 and 11 mu g for the Thai sample.
