Heavy metals in soil from land reclamation with sludge

Heavy metals in soil from land reclamation with sludge

Journal of the Water Pollution Control Federation 59(5): 294-298

Heavy metal concentrations in soils at three reclamation sites in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA, that received sludge in 1980 and 1981, were measured before and after application and again in 1985. The data showed significant increases in Pb, Cu and Zn in soil following land application of sludge, although Cd levels were not significantly higher than in non-sludged soils.
