Heavy metals in water, sediment and invertebrates from rivers in eastern England

Heavy metals in water, sediment and invertebrates from rivers in eastern England

Chemosphere, 1910-11: 1709-1714

Concentrations of Hg, Cd and Pb were measured in water, sediment and invertebrate samples from sites upstream and downstream of towns on two rivers in eastern England. Metal levels in water and sediment were higher in downstream sites, but there were no clear trends in metals in invertebrates between the sites. Some seasonal changes in metal levels in invertebrates were noted.
