Hemihydrate operating experience at Brunswick Mining and Smelting fertilizer facilities

The title fertilizer complex uses sulphuric acid produced in the lead smelting facility to produce bulk diammonium phosphate. The phosphoric acid plant has been converted from the original dihydrate to a hemihydrate process in order to reduce energy requirements by eliminating the evaporation stage needed to concentrate phosphoric acid from 30 to 40% P2O5.
