Herbicide and cultural practices for Bermudagrass greens

Herbicide and cultural practices for Bermudagrass greens

Research Bulletin, Georgia Agricultural Experimental Stations (N0. 358): 19

Ethofumesate was evaluated in 4 trials for the control of Poa annua on Cynodon dactylon turf oversown with Lolium perenne. Effective control was obtained with 1 lb/acre applied in Oct. and again in Nov. or with 1.5 lb applied in Nov. and Dec. In some instances, the combination of mowing and ethofumesate reduced the quality of the turf. L. perenne was more tolerant of ethofumesate when treated 2-4 weeks after sowing than when treated immediately after sowing.
