Heritabilities and phenotypic correlations for seed yield and seed yield components of beans

Six F2 and F3 indeterminate Phaseolus vulgaris populations from crosses involving 4 large-seeded determinate and 3 small-seeded indeterminate genotypes were evaluated, with their parents, for yield and its components at Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, in 1984-85. In the F3 mean seed yields per plant were significantly lower than in the indeterminate parents, while 100-seed weights were significantly lower than in the determinate parents.
