In a multifactorial experiment at Putian in 1986, the effects of 5 levels each of sowing rate, number of seedlings/ha and N, P and K fertilizer on yield and yield components of rice Shanyou 63 were studied. Path correlation analysis showed that total number of spikelets/ha, which was closely correlated with number of productive panicles/ha, had most effect on grain yield.
