Hydrological characteristics in the catchment area of Muda and Pedu reservoirs - case study on irrigation management in the Muda irrigation Scheme, Malaysia

Water from the Muda and Pedu reservoirs, Malaysia, is used to irrigate rice double cropping systems. This, however, has led to severe water shortages as the second crop is almost entirely dependent on irrigation water. To develop an improved water management system, the rainfall-runoff relationships were studied in the catchment areas of the reservoirs using data form five rainfall stations around the dam sites.
