In vitro activity of novel 5-carbonyl derivatives of 3-phenyl-3(1H-imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-2-methylisoxazolidines

Based on results of tests of antifungal activity of these compounds, it is suggested that in addition to the 3-phenyl-3-(1H-imidazol-1-ylmethyl) moiety, the nature of the C-5 substituent in the isoxazolidine ring may also play an important role in determining the degree and/or scope of in vitro antifungal activity of the 3,5-substituted isoxazolidines.
