The prinicipal insect pests affecting seed production in ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) in Arizona, California, Colorado and New Mexico include the scolytid Conophthorus ponderosae, the curculionid Conotrachelus neomexicanus, the tortricids Cydia piperana and C. miscitata, the pyralids Dioryctria auranticella and D. rossi and the torymid Megastigmus albifrons.
