The general basis for the management of the Czech food sector was altered in 1981 with the creation of integration funds, partly from Ministry reserves. The funds were to be used to improve raw material quality, harvesting, storage and processing procedures and promote better coordination between different levels of production. Resources from the investment fund could also be used to help speed up the process.
