Introduction trials of four species of dung beetles (Scarabaeinae) in New Caledonia and Vanuatu

, : Introduction trials of four species of dung beetles (Scarabaeinae) in New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Acta Oecologica, Oecologia Applicata 9(1): 39-53

Four species of scarabaeids were introduced into New Caledonia and Vanuatu as biological control agents against the dung of livestock in pastures there and the Diptera of veterinary importance that breed in it. Five years later, it was found that Onthophagus gazella, Euoniticellus intermedius (Oniticellus intermedius) and Sisyphus spinipes were established in New Caledonia, and Onthophagus gazella, Oniticellus intermedius and Liatongus militaris in Vanuatu.
