Isolation and characterization of cleaved prolactin generated by target tissue

Dissertation Abstracts International B, Sciences and Engineering 47(8): 3262
Isolation and characterization of cleaved prolactin generated by target tissue
The ability of cleaved prolactin (PRL) to displace 125I-oPRL from rat ventral prostate or female rat liver membranes was indistinguishable from that of intact PRL. Similarly, intact PRL and cleaved PRL were equipotent in their ability to stimulate the proliferation of Nb2 lymphoma cells. The supernatant was purified by a hydrophobic interactive column with HPLC techniques, and eluates reanalysed and quantitated by Coomassie Blue stained SDS gels.
