Isolation and serotyping of Haemophilus pleuropneumoniae in three porcine pleuropneumonia outbreaks in central Chile

, : Isolation and serotyping of Haemophilus pleuropneumoniae in three porcine pleuropneumonia outbreaks in central Chile. Archivos de Medicina Veterinaria, Chile 20(2): 147-152

Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleuropneumoniae was isolated from three intensive pig units in central Chile, and for the first time, serotyping was carried out in the case of isolates from 13 pigs examined PM in the laboratory. In one herd, serotype 1 was found in all 6 pigs examined; in the second and third herds serotype 5 was found in 2 and 5 pigs, respectively. Serotyping was done by the slide agglutination test against reference sera of serotypes 1 to 7.
