Isolation of Pasteurella haemolytica from teat lesions in ewes

, : Isolation of Pasteurella haemolytica from teat lesions in ewes. Veterinary Record 125(19): 490-490

In March 1989 an outbreak of ulcerative dermatitis of the teats affected approximately 100 of 350 mule ewes which had lambed one to two weeks earlier. The ewes and their lambs were housed in an open-fronted shed on straw bedding of inferior quality. Lesions were similar to those seen in outbreaks of staphylococcal dermatitis in other flocks and resembled herpes mammillitis in the dairy cow.
