Mating disruption and control of the oriental fruit moth, Grapholitha molesta (Busck) in California

Field trials on the mating disruption of the tortricid Grapholita molesta were conducted in California in peach and nectarine orchards during 1985 and 1986. Pheromone dispensers, each containing 75 mg of pheromone (93% Z-8-DDA ((Z)-8-dodecenyl acetate), 6% E-8-DDA ((E)-8-dodecenyl acetate) and 1% Z-8-DDOL , were applied by hand at a rate of 1000 per hectare placed at heights of 2-3 m.
