Impact of Science on Society 38(4): 337-353

The museology of science is at present going through a period of profound change and self examination. Across the whole field of museology, ranging from 'blockbuster' exhibitions, which oscillate between attempts to teach and attempts to entertain the public, to more ephemeral, and often disparate, displays, current approaches are reflecting a new interest in the techniques of exhibition and communication and in the different types of public.
