Mutagenic activity of fungi isolated from sorghum and maize

Mutagenic activity of fungi isolated from sorghum and maize

Boletin Micologico 3(2): 111-115

Of 44 fungal isolates from sorghum and maize, mutagenic activity was demonstrated by the Rec test using Bacillus subtilis, without microsomal fraction, by 8 isolates from sorghum (3 Penicillium implicatum, 1 P. viridicatum, 3 Fusarium moniliforme and 1 Aspergillus flavus) and by 8 isolates from maize (1 P. viridicatum, 1 P. oxalicum, 1 P. citrinum, 2 G. fujikuroi, 1 A. fumigatus, 1 A. versicolor and 1 A. flavus), and with microsomal fraction by 1 isolate from sorghum (A. flavus) and by 5 isolates from maize (1 P. oxalicum, 1 P. citrinum, 1 A. parasiticus, 1 A. versicolor and 1 A. flavus).
