Mutagenicity of JH-mimic IKI and the insecticide cypermethrin on sex-linked recessive lethals and esterase-6 in Drosophila melanogaster Meigen

Mutagenicity of JH-mimic IKI and the insecticide cypermethrin on sex-linked recessive lethals and esterase-6 in Drosophila melanogaster Meigen

Alexandria Journal of Agricultural Research 32(1): 249-262

The mutagenicity of IKI and cypermethrin was studied in Drosophila melanogaster. A sex-linked recessive lethal test showed that while treatment with chlorfluazuron resulted in only a 1% effect, cypermethrin had a 1.4% effect in the 10th generation. The gene frequency of esterase-6 differed significantly between treated and untreated populations at the 10th generation.
