Mycorrhizae of Fagus sylvatica formed by species of Lactarius, Russula, Laccaria and Cortinarius

Mycorrhizae of Fagus sylvatica formed by species of Lactarius, Russula, Laccaria and Cortinarius

Allionia 1988; 28: 125-134

Descriptions are given of the morphological, anatomical and histochemical characteristics of ectomycorrhizae formed by Lactarius vellereus, L. blennius, L. pterosporus, R. densifolia, Laccaria laccata, C. cinnabarinus, C. nemorensis and C. multiformis. In nearly all the mycorrhizae, the mantle has 2 layers: an external prosenchymatous layer and an internal pseudoparenchymatous layer. In Lactarius and Russula laticifers and sphaerocytes are present.
