Myxosporidia of fish in the Karakum Canal and the Karametniyaz fish farm

Ten species of Myxosporidia were found on examination of 254 fish (belonging to 15 species) from the Karakum canal and Karametniyaz fish farm in the Turkmen SSR in 1969-1979. The overall prevalence rate was 3.3% in the canal, 9.1% in Lake Chaskakh and 1.3% on the farm. Brief notes on the prevalence, hosts and locality are given for each species.
