N mineralization and priming effects

N mineralization and priming effects

Mitteilungen der Deutschen Bodenkundlichen Gesellschaft 59(1): 619-622

Using labelled fertilizer (15NH415NO3) incubation experiments were carried out to investigate whether fertilizer causes changes in the total N and organic C contents of various soil N fractions. Two Triassic soils were treated with the equivalent of 120 kg N/ha in a laboratory experiment and incubated in the dark at 25 degrees C. A detailed chemical analysis followed, and particular emphasis was placed on the speciation of humic acids.
