Effects of salinity and GA3 on enzyme activity and chlorophyll content of the 5th leaf of rice GR-3 were investigated. Linear growth, chlorophyll content, cellulase activity and IAA content of leaves were markedly decreased by NaCl at 12 dS/m but pectin lyase activity was unaffected. Spraying the plants with 10 p.p.m. GA3 increased leaf growth, chlorophyll content and cellulase activity both with and without salt stress.
