Naringin, hesperidin and neohesperidin content in juices from thirteen Citrus spp

Naringin, hesperidin and neohesperidin content in juices from thirteen Citrus spp

Fitoterapia 61(1): 31-36

Hesperidin (with vitamin P properties), and neohesperidin and naringin (natural sources of the non-caloric sweetener neohesperidin dihydrochalcone) were quantitatively determined in 13 Citrus juices by reversed phase HPLC. Hesperidin was the major flavonoid in sweet oranges (C. sinensis, 4 varieties) and C. unshiu. Naringin was found in 5 samples, notably grapefruit (C. paradisi), unripe sour orange (C. aurantium) and Troyer citrange (C. sinensis X C. trifoliata).
