Nematodes of the genus Ascarophis (Spirurata, Ascarophididea) from White Sea fishes

Nematodes of the genus Ascarophis (Spirurata, Ascarophididea) from White Sea fishes

Moscow University Biological Sciences Bulletin 44(1): 65-70

During surveys of fishes in the White Sea (beginning in the 1960s) only 4 specimens of Ascarophis have been found (in August 1967 and August 1977), all in cod. One large female was identified as A. filiformis, 2 other mature individuals (one male, one female) as probably A. filiformis and a moulting larva (iv-v stage) as probably A. japonicus.
