Neutra-PMSG injected early after the LH peak does not improve ovulation rate in PMSG treated heifers

Neutra-PMSG injected early after the LH peak does not improve ovulation rate in PMSG treated heifers

30 cycling Holstein-Friesian heifers were injected with 2500 IU PMSG during the luteal phase, followed by a PGF2 alpha analogue 48 h (group 1) or 58 h (group 2) later. Heifers were inseminated 12 and 24 h after onset of oestrus, and were injected with Neutra-PMSG (an anti-PMSG monoclonal antibody) 108 h after PMSG treatment. An LH peak occurred 91.4+or-5.6 and 99.7+or-5.7 h after PMSG treatment in group-1 and group-2 heifers resp.
