New achievements in cereal tissue culture: plant regeneration via somatic embryogenesis
The subject is reviewed with reference to plant regeneration, embryogenic and non-embryogenic callus, callogenic potential of initial explants, methods of inducing embryogenic callus and somatic embryoids. A list (with references) is given of cereal species (and their explants) in which plant regeneration via somatic embryogenesis had been achieved.
