New concepts concerning the mechanism of action of SolcoTrichovac
Groups of 5 mice were vaccinated with 2 doses of 0.5 ml of SolcoTrichovac (a lactobacillus vaccine) 2 weeks apart, and, one week later, infected with 4 x 106 Trichomonas vaginalis (strain TVK3, TVK4 or TVK5). The general health of vaccinated animals was better than that of unvaccinated, infected controls, and the degree of splenic enlargement and abscess formation was less in vaccinated mice. The average survival time of vaccinated mice was longer than that of controls.
