The reviewer tabulates 90 plants reported to be of value in the treatment of filarial infections, giving the plant part used, route of administration, country of source, indication or activity, and literature reference. He argues that, although ivermectin is expected to reduce the prevalence of blindness resulting from onchocerciasis, this microfilaricidal drug is unlikely to prevent transmission of the disease.
