A technique is described in detail to correct entropion in the very young Shar Pei puppy called eyelid tacking. This can be done with topical ophthalmic anaesthetic and manual restraint of puppies 2-12 weeks of age. The tacks are left in place for 2-3 weeks. This reduces corneal damage until the dog either "grows into its eyelids" or is old enough to undergo a more permanent surgical procedure.
