An outbreak is reported in unweaned calves aged 15-40 days, pastured with their dams on Brachiaria decumbens. One of the cows was also affected. A count of 165 000 Pithomyces chartarum spores per g herbage was made. The lesions regressed when the calves were sheltered from sunlight.
